We have specifically chosen this supplier as their operations are 100% end-to-end carbon neutral and this aligns with the values of Gionita Studio. Additionally, they have high quality production available in the UK & Germany. This means on print-only orders being shipped to customers in the UK or EU will not face additional import charges.
They carefully cover the fine art prints with recyclable tissue paper, eliminating the danger of any scratches or folds. Your order is then placed into a robust 100% sustainably sourced recyclable cardboard envelope or tube. Their team then ships your order, ensuring your prints are delivered safely and quickly as possible.
100% end-to-end carbon neutral means where possible, they minimise their energy usage and use suppliers of renewable energy. Where unavoidable, they then offset all of our carbon emissions.
How do they achieve carbon neutrality?
- Minimising carbon emissions
The first step to achieve carbon neutrality is reducing their emissions. They have done this by using green couriers where available, only using renewable energy suppliers and electric bikes for transport. They have print facilities globally, this means they can reduce air travel when shipping your orders.
- Calculating unavoidable emissions
Once they have reduced their emissions as much as possible we are audited by carbonfootprint.com to calculate our carbon impact. This report includes their performance, a breakdown of their footprint and further recommendations to minimise their footprint. This report is also made publicly available.
- Carbon emission offsetting
They then offset our carbon emissions via The Gold Standard, and help fund projects for a safer climate and more sustainable world.
It is their policy to not use forestry-based carbon offsetting projects, instead we invest in renewable energy projects. This is in line with WWF guidance.
What is carbon offsetting?
Offsetting alone will not tackle climate change, however it is an immediate and measurable method to take responsibility for carbon footprint. After extensive research it is found that investing in renewable energy was the most effective way to offset, as it provides infinite energy supply with instant effect.
Sustainable packaging
Being carbon neutral is not the whole story, plastic pollution is also a huge concern. The materials they use to produce your orders have been carefully selected to reduce impact on the environment whilst still ensuring your orders get to you in perfect condition. All the packaging used for your orders are a mixture of sustainably sourced, recyclable or biodegradable materials.
Sustainably sourced print paper
The Giclée paper manufactures are utilised as they only use resources from sustainable forest management areas. This programme ensures the preservation and protection of biodiversity, the renewal of the forests habitats and decreasing of the impacts of exploitation of forest areas for future generations. The paper made at their mills is certified for the traceability of the wood fibres from an origin of non-threatened forests.
